Here are 10 golden retriever facts that will only make you love them more. 1. Golden Retrievers Are a Noble Breed The breed came into existence in the 19th century mainly due to the efforts of Lord Tweedmouth. They were first bred in Scotland from flat coated retrievers and water spaniels. 2. Golden Retrievers are Natural Swimmers Enjoying this read? You'll love our puppies. [Meet our puppies](https://petlandmerrillville.com/puppies-for-sale/) By instinct, golden retrievers are large water lovers. In fact, their outer coats are water repellent. This proved beneficial for hunting in environments where there were wetlands and rivers in addition to forests. Even to this day, goldens take like a fish to water. 3. There Are Three Types of Goldens There are British, American, and Canadian types. Most of the differences lie on the physical attributes, but there is some variation in temperament as well. 4. They are Guinness World Record Holders There are at least two golden retrievers in the world who are known Guinness World Record holders. The first one is for the loudest bark (beating even a chainsaw at 113.1 decibels), and the other is for the most number of tennis balls held in a dog’s mouth (five). This Petland was super clean and well taken care of! It wasn’t too busy so we were able to see a dog. The workers there were super attentive and kept checking in on us and helped us pick the right puppy to see. They had a few hamsters, ferrets, and Guinea pigs. This location does not have reptiles or fish. I highly recommend coming here for all your dog needs! Posted on Google Andrea Johnson Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This review is for Destiny M. She is next level fantastic. Her demeanor, patience, knowledge was unbelievable. Their prices for dogs seem high, but do your research and you will find them to be competitive. Destiny makes the entire experience worth it.
